Dr. Megan Caves is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Health Service Provider serving Ankeny, Iowa, and surrounding areas.  Dr. Caves believes successful psychotherapy depends on a positive therapeutic relationship and she works to be genuine, present and non-judgmental in her practice.  She uses an integrated approach to help clients learn new skills to aid in personal growth and decrease suffering (cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy).  Dr. Caves also appreciates and incorporates complementary and alternative medicine into her psychology practice.  She provides individual therapy, family therapy, and psychological testing to children, adolescents, and adults.  She has a special interest in infant and early childhood mental health and serves on the board of the Iowa Association for Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health. 

Dr. Caves earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology (2009) and a Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (2011) from Minnesota School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University.  Her experiences during graduate school include providing therapy and assessment to diverse populations in counseling centers, schools and hospitals.  She chose to focus much of her training on working with children, families, and victims of traumatic experiences.  Since graduation, she has worked as a clinical psychologist in a community mental health center.

Off the clock, you will find Dr. Caves spending time with her family.  She enjoys her roles as a parent and a spouse more than anything.  She also has a passion for photography, gardening, traveling, and relaxing with family and friends.
